At last, the temporary solution for pocket queries has been turned off and you don't need to reactivate pq's every time they are run. This was beginning to be really annoying.
Just a heads up that any pocket queries that you may have running need to be checked manually via email to click on a link enclosed with the email to ensure they run again next week. This is due a capacity problem at groundspeak and they are hoping that people who don't read the emails won't click on the links to renew the cache. This works if you base your argument on "those who don't read the emails don't need the query" but ignores the fact that if you have gsak downloading the emails then you don't need to read them.
Geocaching.com have had a site redesign and one of the new features is lists of caches. I've created a list called End of UK Multi Caches which gives you the cache at the end of a series. Useful to see what other cache series are out there and just see how many you have done.
I've had to run another query for pocket queries now to capture the uk's caches as of August 17th the last cache was returning 500 results. So I've set up another one to return from August 17th to Dec 31st.
Not only did they change the interface to pocket queries, but when I went to edit one today I found out that you can now have 20 queries defined, although only run 5 a day. This is much better as it means I can have queries for cities that I am likely to visit, like London, Birmingham etc, and only run them on a as needed basis. With the previous limit for only 5 queries I wasn't able to do this after having a query for found, caches near home and caches near my parents (to keep up to date with what they are up to!)
The pocket query generator for premium geocaching members has been tarted up and looks a lot better now. There's also the ability to click the query and to have it run now. You also get the time the query was last run. A nice improvement.
