Hallo — hoe gaat het met jou? (proununciation goes a bit like “hallow — who hattt het met yoww”) (and the intonation goes down at the end rather than up like in English)
I’m learning Dutch from a good friend in Antwerp, Belgium and it’s fun — and apparently i’m a quick study…
The only problem is that I now know only a few phrases in Dutch — and one of the other phrases that this superb person has taught me is “Bijt mij” (pronounced bettt mah)…. which means “bite me” — not a very polite reply to someone who asks how it goes with you….
