Today was pretty busy-- got up early and drove to Macc for my CT scan on my sinuses (i've got huge problems with them not draining properly). It was interesting-- very loud but not really scary. I was more worried about them asking me to put on one of those naff hospital gowns which show your bum than I was about the actual scanning part itself. (fyi they didn't make me wear the gown! whohooo! I just lay down on the table which moves forwards and back). It's strange to describe-- it's kind of like a donut, not a tunnel. The table you're lying on moves forward while the technician lines you up under the laser crosshairs, and then you lie very still while they go in the other room, and your table moves all the way out of the donut, then slowly in inch by inch, while the machine is whirring away loudly in the donut.
Only took a matter of minutes and I was on my merry way!
Then I went to Sainsbury's to buy some much-needed groceries, and some of their scrummy bagels! (musta been the donut shape of the CT machine that subliminally invaded my psyche!)
finally arrived home, rang Andy to tell him about the scan, and rang a friend and ended up going over there to hang out with her for a bit in the afternoon-- she's a very cool christian lady-- with 2 very adorable kids (and another on the way!). Stopped for petrol on the way home, and milk and a paper, then started to do some research for another friend who asked me on sunday for some advice about doing a ruby anniversary stitching piece for her parents in May/June. I went through lots of my magazines (which needed sorting through anyhow) and pulled out some examples of ideas of things she could do, and took them with me tonight to Bible study to show her.
She found one she liked and is going to mail order it, then we'll have a look at the chart, change some of the colors, and get her threads ordered/bought.
whohoo I love stitching!
tomorrow I'm working and then having lunch with Rachel! whohoo! Then I have to come back and tidy up the house (booo) and Thursday I'm off to Bakewell to a couple of excellent stitch shops! hoooray! And we're having company for dinner Thursday. Should be excellent fun-- just need to get this house tidy!! (I hate cleaning-- I'd sooo much rather be stitching!!!) Plus to add to the already existing depression of cleaning-- I'll have to take the Christmas ornaments/tree down :( and put it in boxes. very sad. :(
