things kids say

Kids are fabulous. Just today I was with my friend Liz at her house, and her 3 year old son fell over and bumped his knee in the garden-- he came into the house crying and very upset. She was calming him down and asked him where it hurt-- "in the garden..." he cried. I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing, it was so cute. She then said "No lovey, where on YOU does it hurt?"

That's the biggest downside to wanting to move to America-- losing all my friends and their sweet children. Okay, granted, I'm not losing them, but I'm sure making it difficult to stay close with them.

Also while at this house, (they're moving so I went round to give a hand wherever they need it) Bjorn came home and was moving some of the boxes out to the car to take to store them and he remarked "glad we're not moving to America!" (because of all the hassle that moving entails and how much worse it would be to move so far) so I quipped-- "Yeah-- much better to move 4 miles up the road..." and we both grinned and he added (wish I'd thought of it!) "twice!" (they're temporarily staying/renting with her mum, so have moved half of their things to her house, and the other half to a place to store them until they find a permanent place).

Bjorn & Liz are great-- and their little ones too. I will certainly miss them if/when we go.
