Happy 6th Anniversary to us......

Sunday was our 6th Anniversary! We enjoyed a very nice (HANDS PLEASE!) meal at a local (HANDS!) Irish (HANDS PLEASE!) pub called the Claddagh -- unfortunately we were seated near to the kitchen door where a overly enthusiastic manager kept shouting at his staff.

Andy bought me some beautiful flowers -- a mix of roses and irises and a balloon! Basil has already shortened the balloon's ribbon by a few inches.

One of the funniest things was opening each others cards -- we have gotten to be so much alike that Andy confessed he intentionally purchased a "To My Darling Wife" card because he didn't want us to buy the same one! Even so, the cards still looked very similar, both having a bit of ribbon down the length of the card near the fold, tied in a bow -- on the card he gave me the ribbon was a cream color, and on the one I gave him it was black. He was joking when I opened mine about how the ribbon was meant to be a garter -- so I said "wait til you open yours!!"

We treated each other to anniversary donuts on the way to church, and the Pastor (who is also the teacher of the sunday school class we're in) thought it was funny -- he asked us what the "traditional" gifts for that anniversary are... i.e. paper, linen, etc. and I piped up 'donuts' -- which really confused another couple in the class (who thought I was serious!!).
