This particular little feature on the Columbus Dispatch Newspaper's website talks about deer in Ohio and where and when the peak times of accidents with them happened in 2004.
I was surprised that Franklin County (which is where we are) had so many collisions (more than 400) because it is a pretty well developed area, so I wouldn't have thought there were that many deer around to collide with!
Main points of the feature -- October to December is the peak time of year when the deer are most active, and 6 to 7pm is the peak time of day when the most accidents occurred.
So watch out for the deers me dears!!

Posted by: Me Dear at October 23, 2005 7:10 PMWhen we went to Mansfield last Saturday there were four or five deer lying along 71. Though the interstate is surrounded by wooded areas, I was a little surprised because of the volume of traffic on that stretch of the road. I guess it just goes to show how bad the overpopulation problem is.
