The other day I posted about this wonderful website called A Nice Cup of Tea and a Sit Down...
well today I stumbled across a news article on Yahoo about the antithesis of a nice cup of tea and a sit down... they've invented a tea pill -- check it out
which is absolutely unbelievable -- why would you want to suck or chew a pill instead of indulging in a nice cuppa????!
oy vey what is this world coming to??
as tried and tested by my beloved husband last night while we were watching 'Robots' (a brilliant film, btw)
in your pocket place the following...
two AA batteries, fully charged
lots of spare shrapnel (change)
sit down and move about a bit and the batteries will start conducting to each other through the change, which will become REALLY HOT and make you dance around in the theatre chair like a man with ants in his pants...
Yesterday I went and had a pedicure, which isn't my new experience, but which is one I recommend to ANYONE for the ultimate in relaxation... unless you don't like people touching your feet (in which case I highly DON'T recommend it!)...
After the pedicure we were talking about all sorts of things and she was saying she had a bit of free time if I wanted to try any of her other treatments.
So I was feeling brave, and trusting, so I decided to have an "eyebrow tidy" (aka get my eyebrows waxed!)...
It didn't hurt as much as the time I got my legs waxed, I was surprised! I thought it would hurt more than it did, being so close to my sensitive eyes and forehead...
I said to her I didn't want it to be so much of a difference that it looked silly-- that since it was my first one, if my eyebrows were a major jungle, we'd have to cut them down in phases, gradually. But she said they were all right, and she'd do the tidy such that I wouldn't have trouble maintaining it with plucking.
We shall see.
and it's about Cups of Tea and Biscuits and a Sit Down...
and there's a website that talks about the book
and the authors also do a website that is really cool!! I haven't fully explored it yet, but here it is in case you fancy a nosy round!
Article on Yahoo News--
Marmite blob ad "terrified" children
LONDON (Reuters) - A Marmite advert that parodied 1950's science fiction film "The Blob" has been banned from all childrens' programmes in Britain after leaving kids too scared to watch television, the advertising watchdog has said.
Two Marmite adverts featured a giant brown blob rolling along a crowded street, terrifying some people who tried to flee while others ran towards it with delight.
The advert ended with Marmite's slogan: "You either love it or hate it".
Six people complained to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) that their toddlers had been terrified by the adverts, with four refusing to watch television after seeing them and two suffering nightmares.
Unilever Bestfoods, makers of the dark brown savoury spread, argued against imposing a tougher "ex-kids restriction" as broadcasters were likely not to show it during general programmes such as "Pop Idol", which attracted younger viewers.
But the ASA said the complaints were strong enough to ban the advert from all children's programming.
"We accepted that the advertisements' effect on young children would have been hard to anticipate," it added. "However, it was clear from the complaints we received that they had caused distress to very young children."
read the article....
Warning -- not for the faint of heart... gross things in the article!!
Ali apologised in the email when she sent this one -- poor Mia was crying, but she took advantage of that to take a photo of Mia's first tooth! If you look closely it's on her right in the front, bottom row...

Can't find it?? I'll put a little circle around it for you!

Just so I don't lose track of it, my favourite authors website (for looking up bibliographies and especially character serieses)...
is Fantastic Fiction -- it's a British website, very good!!
is such a pain in the tukus!!
You get your hopes up so high when you find out you have viewers (my parents think it's hilarious that English people call them viewers-- only place you get viewers in America is to a funeral wake!!!)... and then the estate agent rings you up and either changes the appointment time (after you've texted all your friends to ask them to keep you in their prayers... or cancels it altogether!
Then there's the worst experience... the no-show. You do all the tidying, get everything looking swish, get yourself all excited to show the people around and wait for them to turn up...
and then they don't. And they don't ring (because they don't have your phone number)... so you don't know if they're just lost, or late, or just can't be bothered to come because they weren't ever interested in the first place!!!
Anyhow, we thought we were going to have our third no-show in a row (with an added cancellation in between as well!) but they did finally turn up. I was so glad to see them I didn't even care that they were an hour or so late.
So I showed them around and they seemed to really like it. So we'll see what happens -- they also viewed the house on Fern Crescent that is up for sale with Timothy A. Brown.
I know that ultimately God has a plan for all of this, and that the right people will come along sooner or later, but it's still a horrible feeling when people don't turn up... depressing and frustrating all at the same time.
I'm actually still in the midst of it, my last Monday (full day) at Congleton Library -- it's been a lovely smooth (Mark-less) day!! whoohoo!
Only 3.75 hours left today (.5 hour is a break as well) and then I've only got the Friday morning from 8:30 til about 10:30/11/11:30 don't know yet.
I'm soooo ready to be gone. Perhaps not as ready even as Andy, but nearly!!
is Miss Mia... looking sooo sweet with her bottle!

is really frustrating... you get your hopes all up when you are due to have someone come to view the house...
and then they come crashing down when the people don't turn up!!!
This is the second time this has happened in 2 weeks. :(

(taken while my folks were there the last weekend in Feb.)
Here are some piccies of us at the Lambing weekend -- what a fab day out -- Andy's folks and his sister and her hubby drove across to our house and we all came out for the lambs... sooo cute!!
The mummy ewe in this picture sure had her hands full -- a moment before I took this picture, all four lambs were climbing on her back playing King of the Hill!!

I got to see this little guy being born... (the one climbing around) about half an hour before this picture was taken... the ewe was pregnant with twins, and it took ages between the twins for the second one to come out!! Finally she seemed about ready, and the bloke running the whole show went over to her, kind of spun her around on her side and the lamb came right out! It was pretty gross... lots of gore... ew. But then there was a bit of comedy relief as the big brother was climbing on the mum and getting in the bloke's way as he tried to clear the lambs airway so it could take it's first few breaths.

Here's me and a little friend of mine... he was cute but very wriggly!!

Andy's Mum had much better luck with the one she held! She got a nice calm one... he was very sweet... as you can see from her face-- she really enjoyed herself!

Top Row: Andy, his Dad Neil, Ruth's hubby Tim
Bottom Row: Andy's Mum Serena, Andy's sister Ruth, me!
This was after we'd had a fabulous time out at Reaseheath Lambing Event and had a scrummy lunch (finally!) at Bridgemere Garden Centre... (best fish and chips and mushy peas in all of Cheshire!!)
(whilst looking at digital pictures Andy took geocaching on Saturday)
Kristen: ... is that ice?
Andy: No.... it's frozen water...
Kristen therefore collapses in fits of laughter...
Andy insists that she explain now what he really meant -- it's just a waterfall frozen in time by the camera... it was flowing when he took the photo...
still pretty funny though!! No... it's frozen water...
hee heeeee
