prepare yourself for more drama and rollercoaster emotions than you have ever experienced before!!!
Oh my word -- too much drama! I'm sick of posting about it and I know surely y'all are sick of hearing about it...
So no specifics this time -- drama yesterday got me all in a tizzy and I was wound up and jittery all day because of it.
Hopefully it has finished... we close a week from today -- so hopefully that's the last of the drama... I don't know if my poor ticker can handle any more!!!!!!
it's all Anna's fault.... I went from her blog to take this quiz.... and look how scary I am!!

It appears that everything is going well and there should be no more hiccups or drama...
Our closing date is 7th December and the moving-in date is 10th December.
Now we just have to get our money transferred over from the UK and get it into the bank here so we can put our deposit down on the house and begin to work on it!
I will post some pictures of it once everything is official.
p.s. I think it's almost time to get excited!!
for me!
If you have never bought a house, you won't have a clue what I'm on about.
There is sooo much drama in buying a new house! Why would people move as much as once a year or once every other year!!??!!
Too much drama.
for example...
-- the house we fall for on Fallen Timbers Dr. (very very long story short -- they built/bought a new house that is twice as big and twice as expensive as this one -- he is out of work 5 months, they have to put the new house on the market too -- new house sells before this one, so therefore they have to pull this one off the market because they have been paying 2 mortgages and that was higher!) .... we love it, schedule second viewing, only to have it cancelled by the owner with the news they've gone into contract on the new house .... two days later he's calling back asking how serious we were about the offer thing... then later that day decides that they can't break the contract because the other folks don't want out of it (and would therefore SUE them for breaking it!) .... two weeks later he calls back and asks if we are still free (which we weren't -- we'd put in an offer) and another long story short, I'm on the phone for another entire day trying to work out how we can get to a position to put an offer on the house, only to be told (again!) by Mr. Man that they're not going to break the contract after all... so best of luck to him and GOOD BYE!
-- the house we've put an offer in on has many things that need to be fixed....
-- the owner doesn't want to fix anything more, nor is he willing to lower his price any further...
-- the owner decides he hates our real estate agent and has been making life difficult for us all -- the agent doesn't like him either, so life is fun while he plays petty games with us both and somehow we end up in the middle between them (a bit like being in first grade when two of your friends decide they don't like each other, but still want to be your best friend)...
-- the inspector goes through the house and we have a list of things to be fixed (one of which is currently illegal as-is... and the other is dodgy, but not illegal)... so tonight we presented those to the owner (via the agent -- thankfully everybody played nice).
-- we have to wait and see what he does & what the electrician he calls out says about the dodgy electric situation... otherwise we may pull out (which we don't want to, but we might)
such drama -- who would buy a house!!?
I guess we're insane. We're still buying a house... so far.
Hope my sanity lasts.
(okay -- i wish i had some sanity first... then i would wish it would last... if i had it.)
is really fun but is also hard work!!
Yesterday I went out with our estate agent to look at some houses in the area. I picked two that Andy and I will hopefully go back to this evening so he can see them.
It's difficult because I see houses, then I decide what I liked and didn't like about each one -- comparing it to what we have talked about wanting in a house -- which seems to change with each house!! I keep thinking we want "fillintheblank" feature in our house because "fillinthecoolreasonwhy" but then I see a house with that feature and suddenly it's not so desirable or not so essential. Does this make sense to anyone? I sure hope so. I sure hope that house-hunting isn't going to be the big thing that makes everyone here realize how crazy I am!
which old house....
the Kingsley HOUSE!!!!!!!
Yes, if you haven't already read on Andy's blog, it is finally official -- the money is in the bank!!!!!!!!!
and if you can't tell..... I'm just a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bit excited about that fact!
okay, I'll fess up.... I'm over the moon about it -- what a major relief to be done with that whole palaver of an experience!!!!!!
"So now what?" You may ask?
We're house hunting!!!
