Happy belated 2nd year anniv to CupTeaLuv...

Wow -- where does the time go -- okay, granted I didn't really blog as much as I'd have like to in the last two years... but I did manage (somehow) to post more than 300 entries...

amazing eh?

Yeah I didn't think so either.

Anyhoo... back to normal life I guess! (whatever *that* is!!)

Got the Job!!

I got it!

Orientation is monday afternoon -- and then the training will take place in Delaware! I'm feeling pretty excited about it now. I have some hesitations in the back of my mind, but those will have to wait and see after a few weeks on the job.

Unfortunately my discount won't kick in until 90 days from starting... *sigh* ah well!! At least that means I'll be saving up some money rather than spending all my first few paychecks at work!! *grin*

Andy is already rolling his eyes... poor guy!

errand running and fruit chopping...

I suppose that makes for a fairly productive day -- it certainly has worn me out (although that doesn't say much due to my current state of having a cold)...

We built a fire in the fireplace last night (because we haven't for a long time) and must have burned some rotted wood -- which apparently smolders and instead of the smoke going up the chimney, it just drifts... which it did.... and therefore our house smelt rather stinky last night and especially this morning!!

Fortunately the weather was very cooperative today and the temperature got up to 60 degrees F -- and so we had almost all the windows open wide and lots of fresh air blowing through. Now that the worker bees have gone and so has the sunshine and nice temps, I have had to close the windows and light some candles in hopes of dissipating the stench.

job interview...

Well the job interview went fine, I guess :)

I won't know if they want to hire me until they call -- at some point over the next week (or so). The new store doesn't open until sometime in February, so there's not as much of a crunch to get the staff all lined up yet.

I'll keep you posted as soon as I find out anything.

New Year ... new job?

Today I am going for a job interview at 2:30pm. The job is with Cord Camera working in a new scrapbooking superstore. I'm not sure if they're considering me for a cashier role or an instructor role, but I would love either job.

I am *extremely* nervous.... and have no confidence right now.

I also feel like I am going through today under water -- I've come down with a cold at some point in the last few days. I went to bed last night at 9 and slept solidly through til about 4 when Andy got fed up with my snoring and did a gymnastic rolling over to wake me up, and then I went straight back to sleep and slept til about 7:30 when Andy woke me up for the day. I feel like I could go back to bed and sleep for another 6 or 10 hours.

I am supposed to bring "samples" to my interview -- I don't keep evidence of any cards I've made in the past that have been for people to give to others (i.e. for my Mom to give to others! :) ) and my scrapbooking pages haven't been worked on for ages -- each one shows improvement from the one before, but in each one I still see flaws to be corrected next time.

The last two interviews I went to (I felt) went really well.... and I didn't get either job. So my confidence is a bit bruised -- and with scrapbooking, I love doing it... but that doesn't mean I'm any good at it!

So we'll see.

I'll let you know if they tell me anything this afternoon.

New Year... new windows!!!

now that we're in the new house, the first thing we did was get on the trail of finding someone to put new windows in!! This house is sooooo drafty (draughty -- whichever way you spell it!) and the warm air the heating provides practically waves goodbye to you as it flies out the windows...

so the windows were ordered by Jack Clark Construction -- a great company -- and he and his sons have been working on replacing the basement ceiling and doing various smaller projects around the house until the windows arrive.

The windows arrived on Friday of last week and yesterday they put in th big bay window in the front (I'll post pictures at some point I promise!) and the window in spare room #1 (with the hardwood floor) and one of the two windows in spare room #2 (carpeted). They finished them very professionally -- from the inside, you can't even tell that the windows were torn out and new ones put in, apart from the fact that you don't feel like you're freezing when you stand beside them!!! HOO-RAYYYYYYYY!!

3 down, 9 to go (plus two doors!!) It's beginning to come together... bit by bit...
