1099G?
I received a 1099G yesterday from Ohio but I’ve no idea what it means or what I have to do with it - I guess I’ll find out when I get around to doing my taxes. I’m still waiting for some statements from the bank before I can really start.

I had a nice surprise to see that I had won week3 of Lifehack’s competition to win a dbclay wallet (worth $48). They look pretty cool so I’m really looking forward to seeing what the new one is like. I’ll be posting pictures when it arrives. They have another round this week so hurry up if you’d like a chance to win a wallet too.
I had a really good time at the Southern Theater yesterday with the Flickr Group - I think there was about 50-60 people there so you had to be careful about who you were stepping in front of but it was fun. I’ve not captioned the 60 photo’s I am in the process of uploading onto Flickr yet - that will be a project for this week. Everyone’s photos are available at cmhflickrmeet011908 - I recommend you subscribe to the rss feed to see the photos come in on your reader. The obligatory group photo shot was taken by Fensterbme as usual - Thanks!
I do have a picture of the day for yesterday and today but I won’t be able to upload them until after this batch gets uploaded so stay tuned.
I think my daily picture taking process should get a bit easier now. Up until now I’ve been ejecting the compact flash, SD or XD card from the camera and then putting it in the card reader. However tonight I plugged the Canon into the usb cable and saw it come up as a mobile device in Windows Explorer. By right clicking on the device and choosing properties I was then able to select an action on inserting the camera. One of the options is to copy the pictures to a specified directory on the disk AND put them in a subdirectory of todays date, another option is to delete the pictures off the camera afterwards. Seeing as though this is a process I do manually at the moment, this should be really helpful. As the camera has a really good battery life (I’ve just swapped the batteries over for the first time) I’m not too concerned about draining the battery whilst the data is being copied across. I might use the card reader process on Saturday when I get back from the Columbus Ohio Flickr meet at the Southern Theatre. Seeing as though this trick has saved me some time, I thought it was appropriate that the photo for today was Time.
A bunch of us from work are going skiing tonight - it starts at 10pm and finishes at 3am (and then we have a 45 min drive home). I’m really looking forward to it as I’ve never been skiing before. Always wanted to go but it probably wouldn’t have been as much fun on my own as with a group of friends from work. I’ll take the camera but won’t be taking pictures whilst on the skis though. Therefore my picaday picture will be late today, but it should be a unique one for me!
Kristen has posted about her knitting and our cosy night in at home on New Years eve. What she didn’t mention is that we almost missed the ball drop in Times Square thanks to Tater. Earlier on in the week I had heard a crash and discovered that he had been climbing behind the tv and the rabbit ears aerial that we use had fallen over and I had put it back. What I hadn’t realised is that somehow the twin connections to the aerial socket on the tv had come loose thanks to his exploring so we had no reception at 23:59:15. So I spent the New Years countdown holding the two pieces of wire to the bare metal contacts so that Kristen could watch the tv whilst I peered around the set to see what was going on…..swine cat!
I’m going to try and post a photo a day on Flickr this year - not sure how long this will last but I’ll give it a go. The last 7 photos will appear in the left hand sidebar on the website and you can also subscribe to the photos in a RSS reader too.
Welcome to 2008 and my new blog, Absoblogginlutely! - IRL, which stands for In Real Life. I have had several people mention that my normal blog, Absoblogginlutely!, often gets too technical which makes them less interested in the blog but they still want to know what is going on in my life. Also, I don’t really want to clutter up Absoblogginlutely! with “frivolous” content such as funny Youtube videos or cat pictures. I am making this a new blog as Absoblogginlutely! has good Google juice and will still be my main blogging focus. No old content will be migrated across from the original blog as most of you will have already read it already. The design of this blog will also change, especially in the first couple of months as I find new Wordpress widgets and fiddle with the layout. Hopefully most of you will be using a RSS reader so will not be affected by the layout changes - however take the time to checkout the website occasionally to see what is new.
For those of you who wish to read both blogs I intend to create a couple of various feeds that merge both of the blogs and some of my other content such as Flickr, YouTube etc.
Incidentally - how many of you read this on the website as opposed to a feedreader? Would a post on how to read this in a feedreader be useful? Do you know what a feedreader is?
