Engine Oil level indicator

|

After 6 returns to the garage due to the engine saying it needs more oil, with at least three occurances happening the day after the car has been serviced, the garage has finally come to the conclusion that the problem might be due to a faulty oil level indicator......

The car now needs to go back for yet another day's work on it as apparently its a 7 hour job to remove the engine, replace the sensor and put the engine back in the car again. I'm just glad it's a lease car and I don't have to pay the bill. Not that I would if it was my car as I reported this problem way back when I first had the car, it was in warrenty, but the couldn't find a problem then and told me I'd have to pay for subsequent checks if it happened again! (It's also had two subsequent firmware flashes to the engine management system to fix the fault they can't even find.)
