Newcastle Find

Went up to the Angel of the North Cachethis afternoon. The statue isn't that big and very rusty. There was a plaque by it, giving a description of the statue, but no details as to why on earth they decided to commission it and stick it on the top of a hill!

That would be useful info to put on the plaque, I must admit, but there you go. It's supposed to welcome people to the north of England, and is situated so that it can be viewed from both the A1 and the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh.

Everything you need to know. Shame it's not wi-fi enabled it'd make a great omni antenna :)
