Google Reader Notifier Firefox Extension - useful as it tells you how many unread posts you are behind on without having to log into the site or go to google.com/ig

Handy extension, but also mildly annoying as it stores your user name and password which messes with the cookies (i.e. if you are using a customized Google home page you get logged out.)
Personally I prefer this Google Reader Notifier, but this has its drawbacks, too.
