demon and dns

|

Demon just cannot be trusted to do anything right. For the second time in about two weeks they've screwed up dns changes. The last time they took ownership of dns for our work domains but didn't put in ANY a records so all our servers disappeared off the internet for about 6 hours. This time they have not changed the records to new ip address's so we are unable to switch from leased line to (static) adsl connections as planned (and announced to customers) at the time we had agreed. They should have been changed last night and I was going to go in early and move firewalls - now I've got up early for nothing and i'm grumpy :-(

DynamicDns Client?

| | Comments (4)

Can anyone recommend a decent and free dynamic dns client? The downloadable version that I used to use now has a bug in it that means it doesn't work. Thats not too much of an issue as my router now has built in ddns client functionality, but it prevents me writing correct documentation for my first HelpMeHelpYou article on Dynamic Dns registration. The first in a series of guides that will assist people in setting up their pc's so I can provide remote assistance.

Absoblogginlutely now live.

Posts are now live on absoblogginlutely. Soon this page will not be updated anymore, and you'll have to look on the other site....in the meantime I'll post on the two sites (or try to remember). Once I've turned this site off for the blogs I'll then start to move the rest of the other content such as the albums and then work on the various xml and rss feeds. All this because I wanted to get away from Blogger's problems, run Moveable Type and have more (reliable) webspace.
