Well so far (three sessions in) the day has been a lot less geekier than I expected and although some of the sessions were different to what I expected, it has been very interesting and entertaining. For those of you who missed the sessions they are being recorded on the blubrry network I think - keep an eye on the homepage for more information I guess. see CoefficientMedia (not currently active though)
I've fired up my twitter account (helsbyhome)and have posted a couple of things on there - I may start using it more often.....

A couple of admins posted for questions for some future interviews that they had in the pipeline so I sent in an email about scripting. I'm currently proficient in batch file scripting but really struggled with Powershell scripting which is unfortunate as it looks like this is where admin scripting is going in 2008 with Windows 2008 and Exchange2007. So Steve kindly produced a 10 minute podcast that answered my questions about getting started in Powershell and that was all that was in it - a whole podcast produced for me (but I don't mind other people listening to it either)- Thanks very much Steve!
The last episode of In The Trenches has been posted online now and my interview with Kevin Devin is included. I actually volunteered to do the interview about a year ago but we've only just got around to recording and uploading it to the website. The entire podcast is worth listening to, but I appear 22 minutes in.
I entered a competition for A Couple of Admins podcast which is one of the tech podcasts that I listen to on a regular basis. I submitted a review to ITunes and won a $25 gift voucher to Borders. I'm not sure which book I'm going to get from them just yet - there are several tech books that I've had my eye on.
Update The actual podcast with the drawing is #27
I did a short (2 min) audio clip for In The Trenches on keeping up to date with Microsoft downloads. It was fun to do - took me a couple of times to get right and I actually wrote most of the script out first to make it easier. A couple of edits to remove some annoying deep breaths and I sent it to George and Kevin to post. Let me know what you think - podcasting is harder than it sounds.
Useful list of Microsoft podcasts which I didn't know they did - there are at least 3 of these that I want to listen to.
George does a good skit of what would happen when the techies from Compusa get in the ring with the techies from BestBuy to battle over a consumer's tech support. With weapons such as rebates, price match flyers and even a blueshirted sales rep (i think) the action gets pretty intense. Well worth catching up on the In the Trenches podcast from a couple of weeks ago. The file is pretty large but contains a lot of other good techie stuff too.
I was having a retro yearning the other day for some old music by the QuireBoys. A google search didn't find (m)any mp3's to download but I did stumble across the Rockcast podcast show. There is some really good music there from bands I've never heard of as well as well known (Dandy Worhols, Fleetwood Mac). Worth a download and subscribing too.
I got an email from the odeo team inviting me to join their beta program. This is a standalone podcast reader that will download podcast items individually or synchronise them on a scheduled basis. At the moment it looks like it has potential but needs more features. I've sent them an email with my initial thoughts and suggestions on how to improve it. Worth signing up for their beta to try it.
