Flickr images now included in the rss feed.

I’ve changed the settings on my RSS feed now to include the last 5 images from my Absoblogginlutely Flickr account. So I guess I need to upload some more photo’s.  I’ve not actually taken very many recently although last year was pretty productive in my photography growth. I had some photos published in the church newsletter, have had a request to shoot some photos for a band (that I’ll be doing in the next couple of months) and I’ve also had a request to use one of my photos in a chamber of commerce guide for a nearby town.  That’s pretty encouraging and also allows me to purchase a new flash for the camera – I hope to get this by the end of Feb. The Canon Flash’s are pretty expensive so I’ll probably be going for a sigma flash at half the cost (or rather a better flash in terms of features and power for the same price)

Flickr Southern Theatre Tour

I had a really good time at the Southern Theater yesterday with the Flickr Group – I think there was about 50-60 people there so you had to be careful about who you were stepping in front of but it was fun. I’ve not captioned the 60 photo’s I am in the process of uploading onto Flickr yet – that will be a project for this week. Everyone’s photos are available at cmhflickrmeet011908 – I recommend you subscribe to the rss feed to see the photos come in on your reader. The obligatory group photo shot was taken by Fensterbme as usual – Thanks!

I do have a picture of the day for yesterday and today but I won’t be able to upload them until after this batch gets uploaded so stay tuned.

Day 17 - TimeI think my daily picture taking process should get a bit easier now. Up until now I’ve been ejecting the compact flash, SD or XD card from the camera and then putting it in the card reader. However tonight I plugged the Canon into the usb cable and saw it come up as a mobile device in Windows Explorer. By right clicking on the device and choosing properties I was then able to select an action on inserting the camera. One of the options is to copy the pictures to a specified directory on the disk AND put them in a subdirectory of todays date, another option is to delete the pictures off the camera afterwards. Seeing as though this is a process I do manually at the moment, this should be really helpful. As the camera has a really good battery life (I’ve just swapped the batteries over for the first time) I’m not too concerned about draining the battery whilst the data is being copied across. I might use the card reader process on Saturday when I get back from the Columbus Ohio Flickr meet at the Southern Theatre. Seeing as though this trick has saved me some time, I thought it was appropriate that the photo for today was Time.

I’m going to try and post a photo a day on Flickr this year – not sure how long this will last but I’ll give it a go. The last 7 photos will appear in the left hand sidebar on the website and you can also subscribe to the photos in a RSS reader too.
